The story of Fabbri begun in 1905, when Gennaro Fabbri and his wife Rachele took over an old general store in Portomaggiore, a small town in North East Italy. The store was close by to a wild black cherry orchard, where Rachele hand picked cherries and slow cooked them into a delicious recipe that became know as ‘Amerena Fabbri’ candied cherries in amarena syrup. To thank his wife for the recipe, Gennaro purchased a ceramic jar from a local artist from the region. The unmistakable white and blue jar has become a trademark of Fabbri ever since.
Today this iconic Italian company is run by the fourth generation of the Fabbri family, and honours the traditional recipe developed over a century ago.
