Hey Tiger is owned by a charitable trust and is in partnership with the Hunger Project to fund their work with cacao farming communities in Ghana. Between 60 -70% of the world's cacao comes from West Africa and most cacao farmers who farm the land, live under the poverty line. Child trafficking and child labour is still commonplace in these cacao producing regions.
The company's goal is to help these farming communities with fair trade and to help eradicate child labour. This includes offering micro loans and financial literacy programs to farmers so as to encourage sustainable farming practices whilst providing early childhood education for these children.
